I have one bottle for sale on eBay.
“It’s the most powerful love potion in the world!” said Hermione.
“Quite right! You recognized it, I suppose, by its distinctive mother-of-pearl sheen?”
– Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
Lately I’ve gotten the potion bottle bug, and I’ve really enjoyed making this bottle of Amortentia. It’s industrial sized (500ml) and my story is that it belongs in the back room of a potion supply shop where giddy girls can have a vial dispensed to win their favorite boy.
The French on my bottle is atrocious, and that’s the way I like it! My mother’s first language is French, and it was always used as a secret code between her and my mémère to keep my sister and I guessing. Although I’ve had French in both high school and college (and I could have tapped any one of the several native speakers I know) I took the easy way out on this bottle, and ran the text through Babelfish. Kind of reminds me of those Korean notepads that say things like “Only for 200% sweet girl.”
The label is based on an antique label.
