The Illusionist Locket

illusion-nick.jpgNick over at The Mechanical Philosopher sent me a link to his beautiful 3D rendition of The Illusionist locket. He claims my replica of the locket sketch from the movie helped him along, but clearly he’s got quite a bit of his own artistic abilities. He goes into a lot of detail as to the mechanics behind the locket, and shared my frustration with the fact that it cannot be recreated without having the photo inside be in two parts.

In other The Illusionist news, Some time ago I received a tutorial on making one out of household goods, but it is in Spanish and I’ve not yet finished translating it. (Also, if you haven’t seen The Illusionist, go rent it now.)
