If only I had known, I should have become a watchmaker

moody-post.jpgI just completed work on the pocket watch Mad-eye Moody carries in Goblet of Fire. It was quite a project, from finding the right watch, creating the art, to disassembling (and reassembling) the watch.

I am debating doing a limited run of these – probably ten of them. You can e-mail me if interested. Also, I do love to read comments on the stuff I’ve done. Feel free to leave one whether or not you like the piece.

UPDATE: To test the waters to determine price and interest I am selling this one on eBay. Perhaps I’ll make more than a final one for me . . . perhaps not.

Awesome! Congrats on selling it too. :D Maybe you should make 20 of them instead.

I just think theres something so beautiful about re-making a pocket watch so that it doesn’t work, and replacing the hours with symbols that evade our knowledge. :)

    Love what you do.

    Love Harry Potter too!

Well . . . with the exception of the unreadable symbols, the watch still works!

Nice watch, although I think it would benefit from some aging.
I have found some household items can stain in an aged effect on various metal types.
I have an interest in pocket watches and recently bought some parts.
    Good Luck!

I have an aged version I’m working on. What’s nice about being able to remove the watch movement is that the case can be aged without damaging the movement.
